However, that image was shattered in one horrific night when the entire family was wiped out. To an outsider, the case bears a striking, chilling resemblance to the real-life Burari tragedy.

The narrative shifts gears the moment Inspector Jatil Yadav arrives. What looks like a case of “black magic” is quickly unmasked as a clever and brutal murder mystery.
- The Modus Operandi: The victims were found with cloth covering their faces, suggesting a killer who either couldn’t bear to look at them or wanted to remain unseen by the dying.
- The Brutality: A sword was used with such precision that the bodies were drained of every single drop of blood.
- The Witness: In a house of death, the daughter-in-law remained completely untouched, though she was found with the blood of another on her face.
A Predicted Tragedy
The most haunting detail of this case is the “prediction”. Someone—allegedly Guru Mata—predicted the exact nature of these deaths 24 hours in advance. This is why a police jeep was already at the house a full day before the massacre. This wasn’t just a crime; it was a psychological challenge thrown right at a police inspector’s feet, executed under his very nose.

This is an intelligent, albeit gloomy, 2.5-hour journey. Be warned: the film spends 90 minutes slowly tightening the noose of tension, only to reveal its true “game” in the final half-hour.

- The Drawback: If I have to be critical, it doesn’t quite reach the sheer “evil” depth of the real Burari case, but it remains a powerhouse of a film.
