T20I

New Delhi: T20

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris etched his name into the record books with a sensational knock in the third T20I against Bangladesh on Monday, June 1. Chasing a stiff target of 197 runs for a clean sweep in the series, Haris put on a dazzling display of power-hitting, guiding Pakistan to a comprehensive seven-wicket victory.

The 23-year-old remained unbeaten on 107 off just 46 deliveries, peppering the Sher-e-Bangla pitch with seven towering sixes and eight boundaries. His innings was not only a match-winning effort but also one for the history books, as he shattered multiple records — some previously held by star batter Babar Azam.

First Pakistani to Score a T20I Hundred at No. 3

Haris became the first Pakistan player to score a T20I century while batting at No. 3, surpassing the previous best of 86 runs, a record jointly held by Babar Azam and Mohammad Hafeez. The one-down position has seen several talented batters over the years, but Haris’s 107* is now the highest score by a Pakistani in that spot.

Before Haris, Babar Azam held the second spot with a 49-ball ton against South Africa in Centurion in 2021. Haris’s blistering knock not only rewrote the record books but also showcased his growing stature as a dynamic force in Pakistan’s T20I setup.
