India Triumphs Over Bangladesh in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Opener with Shubman Gill's Century

ICC In their opening match on February 20, 2025, India defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in a thrilling encounter at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh posted a total of 228 runs in 49.4 overs, thanks to a resilient century from Towhid Hridoy (100) and a solid contribution from Jaker Ali (68). In response, India chased down the target with 229 runs in 46.3 overs. Shubman Gill played a crucial role, scoring his maiden ICC century with a composed knock of 101 runs off 129 balls. Virat Kohli also contributed with a quick 41 off 36 balls before being dismissed2. Despite a few missed opportunities in the field, India managed to secure the win with 21 balls to spare
